About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Mental Health Unit in Tweed Heads, NSW. 6-12 week contract opportunity - spend summer by the beach!

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute mental health conditions in an inpatient unit.
- Conduct mental health assessments and contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans.
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Engage in therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques as required.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain clear and accurate patient records, ensuring adherence to mental health legislation and best practice standards.
- Support patients through their recovery journey and assist in discharge planning.
Essential Criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of 2 years' post-grad experience as a Registered Nurse working in mental health.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in both inpatient and community settings.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Experience in medication management and patient assessment.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and promoting independence in adults.
